What the calculator sends

Nothing. The device catalogue is downloaded to your browser once and every estimate is computed there. The device you select, the usage level you choose and any battery health figure you enter stay on your machine. They are never transmitted, logged or stored on a server.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies at all, which is why there is no consent banner to dismiss.

One preference is kept in your browser’s local storage: whether you chose the light or the dark theme. That value never leaves your device and cannot be read by anyone else. Clearing your browsing data removes it.

Retailers and repair suppliers you reach through a link here may set their own cookies once you are on their website. That is governed by their policies rather than this one.

Analytics

Visits are counted using GoatCounter, chosen because it is cookieless and does not build a profile of you. It records the page visited, the referring page, approximate country, browser and screen size. It sets no cookies, stores no IP address in a form that identifies you, and does not follow you between websites. There is no Google Analytics on this site and no advertising network.

Hosting and server logs

The site is static and hosted by Netlify, which processes ordinary request data such as IP address and user agent in order to serve the page and guard against abuse. Netlify acts as the hosting provider; its own privacy notice covers how it handles that data.

Fonts

Typefaces are served by Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google, which necessarily discloses your IP address to Google. If you would rather it did not, blocking requests to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com leaves the site fully readable in your system typeface.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to retailers and repair suppliers carry an affiliate tag, which lets the retailer attribute a purchase to this site. Following one tells that retailer you arrived from here. It sends them nothing about which device you looked up, and it never changes an estimate.

Your rights

Because this site collects and stores no personal data, there is normally nothing to access, correct, export or erase. If you believe data relating to you has nonetheless been processed, write to [CONTACT EMAIL] and it will be handled under the law of [JURISDICTION]. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Children

This is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed at children. No personal data is knowingly collected from anyone, whatever their age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
